getting rid of the right pane, trimming the fat

gee thanks, ms. I really needed all that greyspace to give me two tiny icons...damn, I hate the right pane. I haven't found a way to get rid of the right pane in the vista start menu yet, though.

I prefer sleek, tall and thin, not fat and taking up half my screen...for a list that condenses to the left half perfectly.


I've also lost my ability to see thumbnails. Anyone got a fix?
